Canals of Amsterdam

As you may or may not know (I have a feeling I use this openings sentence all the time) I went to Amsterdam, again? Yes again. Not just because I felt like it, no this time I actually had proper plans. The Gay Pride and in particular the canal parade. If I had to name 1 thing about being Dutch I'm proud of is the open-minded culture and society we (seem to) live in, you can be who you want to be and that's exactly what the Amsterdam Gay Pride is all about. Celebrating equality! It was my first time and I really enjoyed it. I'm already making plans for next year!

Anyway, the morning after I got a call from my mum asking if we wanted to come along on a boat to float through the canals of Amsterdam and enjoy the sunny weather. Well, lets just say you don't have to ask me twice! It was such a lovely, relaxed day with cooled wine, yummy snacks and enough amazing views/buildings to look at. It was so nice to see Amsterdam from a different perspective, I was sad that it was over! Until next time Amsterdam.

Note to self: Bring your camera along with you, you have bought the damn thing for a reason Lara!

loves,
Lara

  6. Ahh that happens a lot, having an amazing view and to only have a camera phone to capture it. But it looks beautiful! Every time I see pictures of Amsterdam I'm always amazed of how lovely it is. For sure it's in my wish-travel-list. x

    1. Oh what exciting! Amsterdam is a lovely city indeed, you'll love it. A friend of ours own a boat so that's why we were able to sail on the canals. But you can also rent these little boats which are quite fun too, or go on a tour boat? As long as you're on the waters, right?! Have fun in Amsterdam.
