That thing about fall

The days are getting shorter and darker and even though I usually get really excited by the fall. I'm feeling a bit poorly. Luckily, I now have a good excuse to stay inside under my warm blankets and blog a little bit. Which results in me, writing this cheesy post with the things I like most about this time of the year. Maybe this way I will get a little bit more excited by the shitload of rain that's falling out of the sky right now.

Comfort food! A fresh cooked dinner, fresh from the oven, that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy from the inside. I'm already drooling over my mums pumpkin soup with a hint of orange. It's literally autumn in a bowl.

Hot chocolates. Even though I'm a gigantic coffee lover and get extremely excited by pretty patterns on my cappuccino, I love a good hot chocolate (Maybe with some whipped cream and sprinkle of marshmallows?) on a rainy day! Especially when you're feeling extremely cold, or after a tiring school day. Yes, please.

Layering. Something I'm always excited about when the days are getting darker and shorter is my huge collection of warm jumpers. I like to spend a little bit more time on what I'm wearing during winter time. The ability to work with different textures and layers is so satisfying. Or the choice to just throw on one of your cosy knitted jumpers! Heaven!

Chill time. To be honest, for me, there's nothing better than being curled up on the couch with a hot cup of tea watching one of your favorite tv shows. Especially when it's pouring down outside and you're all warm and cosy under your blanket. Heaven!

Fall scents. Everything about fall smells good. Pumpkin spice, apples, cinnamon.. The smell of a fresh baked apple pie, and when I don't feel like baking I just light one of my Yankee apple/cinnamon scented candle.

What is your favorite thing about the fall?

  1. I love this post, it solidifies everything I also love about Fall. I'd probably just add chilly air and crisp leaves to the list. Really great post! Hope you feel better soon!
